The wooly bastards were sick of being stuck in the barn and eating hay, so they let themselves out at 4:30 am this morning. (we were actually planning to put them out on pasture today, just not quite so early... But when we heard knocking on our door before sunrise we had a pretty good idea what was going on before we even got out of bed... At least the conscientious neighbor with an early commute let us know) They have been successfully transfered into the electronet fencing after much shaking of grain buckets and manual wrangling of recalcitrant lambs :P
They apparently managed to undo the gate chain on the main gate to get out. We are wondering where they hide their thumbs.

Sheep, eh? Fortunately they are only cunningly persistent rather than persistently cunning.
However, this does not bode well for a restful spring. May your lamb chops be in demand.

sadly there is a thumb in frame (upper left)... It was early, so I’ll give myself a break from the usual self-criticism.

I saw that. It just adds a bit of humanity to the photo. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

The title of this just reminded me of a little story: my dog has three legs and I’ve been carrying her down the stairs since that happened because I thought she needed help. Someone was shooting off fireworks the other day so she went to hide by the couch and it turns out she can get down the stairs just fine when it suits her.

At first I read that as the sheep knocked on the door and thought; that was mighty thoughtful of them...
I’m a bit disappointed now...

My brother in law has a three legged dog. He was telling me that he had been doing the same thing for awhile. Then they came home from her post amputation follow up and he walked to the door to open it, and he turned around and she was standing right behind her on their front steps.
Apparently she’s also the only of his three dogs that occasionally jumps their fence to go for a neighborhood stroll.

I had the same thought. I was hoping to learn that one of the house lambs had wanted back in.

I used to live with a three-legged dog. She didn’t seem affected by the missing limb at all.
